In dieser Woche habe ich nicht so viele Vorschläge. Neben den beiden unten aufgeführten Übertragungen gibt es da natürlich Himmelfahrt. Jeder der Klassiksender hat entweder das Himmelfahrtsoratorium BWV11 oder eine der Kantaten im Programm. Und das Ganze in sehr unterschiedlichen Besetzungen.

It is widely believed that JS Bach composed six sonatas for the viola da gamba, although only three of them still exist. Bach often recycled his work so that the same music can transcribed, to to serve a different function, and Hille Perl and her team suggest that the three „missing“ gamba sonatas can be found elsewhere in Bach’s output. As well as the official music for gamba, and other items by JS Bach, this concert from St John’s Smith Square offers an opportunity to hear what could be a restoration of one of the lost gamba sonatas.

Die Brandenburgische Bach-Gesellschaft Potsdam

Johann Sebastian Bach besuchte 1747 Sanssouci, und sein Sohn Carl Philipp Emanuel war hier 30 Jahre lang als Cembalist und Kammerkomponist angestellt. Die Familie Bach und Potsdam sind eng miteinander verbunden. Genauso wie viele Potsdamer Künstler nimmt sich die Brandenburgische Bach-Gesellschaft Potsdam dieser Tradition an und führt sie fort.
